Built for asset-backed lending, not retrofitted instalment credit
Leasing isn’t instalment lending with a different name. The asset itself is part of the contract: it has a residual value, a condition that matters at return, and (for operating leases) no transfer of ownership at all. The platform tracks the asset as a first-class part of the loan record, not as a side note.
Operating leases and finance leases, handled differently
An operating lease ends with the asset returned to you; a finance lease ends with ownership transferring or a purchase option exercised. Both are supported, with the residual value calculation and end-of-term workflow differing accordingly, rather than forcing every lease through the same template.
Repayment structures
The same three repayment methods available across the platform apply to leasing: annuity (equal periodic payments), linear (fixed principal, declining interest), and bullet (interest-only with a final balloon payment), set per product at origination.
Residual value and early settlement
Residual value is fixed at origination and built into the schedule. If a lessee settles early, the system recalculates the outstanding balance and any residual adjustment automatically, rather than requiring a manual recalculation.
Asset return and recovery
For operating leases, the return process, condition assessment, logistics, reconciliation against the expected residual, all run through the same account record as origination and servicing. Recovery and trial process management apply here the same way they do across the rest of the platform.
