Bridging the Channel: Paris and Amsterdam

In February 2026, Creditonline joined an international fintech trade mission to Paris and Amsterdam, alongside 12 other UK fintech scaleups. Represented by our Head of Sales (CCO), Eglė Krolytė-Plentienė, the delegation met banks, payment providers, and financial regulators across both cities over the course of a week.

Why Creditonline was selected

The UK is home to over 4,400 fintech firms, most of them based in London. In the first nine months of 2025, UK fintechs raised $3.1 billion, with London accounting for roughly 90% of that investment. Creditonline was one of 13 companies chosen from that pool to join the official delegation, selected for a track record of expanding and integrating across European markets.

The mission was run by a growth agency that organises international trade missions and workshops for scaling UK tech companies, providing structured access to foreign institutions and regulators that would otherwise take months to arrange independently.

Paris: banks and corporate lenders

Paris has become a primary route for UK firms scaling into Europe. In 2025, the French fintech sector supported 50,000 jobs across 1,200 companies, with investment up 32% year-on-year.

In Paris, the delegation met:

  • A major French banking group, to discuss how CreditOnline’s lending systems could support their operational efficiency.
  • Corporate lending specialists, to identify use cases for automated credit assessment.
  • Regional innovation partners, who provided a shortlist of bank targets and direct introductions to decision-makers.

These were arranged introductions rather than cold outreach, which gave the conversations a different starting point than direct sales contact normally would.

Amsterdam: payments and SME banking

From Paris, the mission moved to Amsterdam, Europe’s third-largest fintech hub and a centre for payments specifically, an area where CreditOnline’s processing and credit management tools are directly relevant.

In Amsterdam, the focus shifted to:

  • Digital SME banks, to explore how CreditOnline’s infrastructure supports rapid scaling.
  • Payment infrastructure providers, where there’s overlap with CreditOnline’s automated processing tools.
  • National financial supervisors, for direct discussion of regulatory expectations and compliance frameworks.

Meeting the regulators directly

Alongside the commercial meetings, the delegation met directly with national central banks and embassy contacts in both cities. For a company providing automated credit and compliance systems, regulatory alignment isn’t a feature to point to, it’s the basis the rest of the relationship is built on. Direct consultations with supervisors let Creditonline address local standards for financial stability and oversight before any commercial conversation goes further.

What happens with the contacts now

Every introduction made in Paris and Amsterdam goes into Creditonline’s pipeline for follow-up, alongside the sales team’s existing process for tracking which European institutions are actively researching our products. The mission generated specific, named contacts; converting them is a matter of ongoing outreach over the rest of 2026, not a one-off event.

What this confirms

The mission reinforced what Creditonline’s sales team already saw in the pipeline: demand for compliant, scalable credit technology across Europe, with London’s fintech depth, Paris’s regulatory and banking access, and Amsterdam’s payments specialism each opening a different kind of conversation. The next step is converting those conversations, several of them now with Tier-1 banks and national regulators, into signed deals.
